I am a firm believer in challenging myself when it comes to fitness and nutrition. I have found that if I occasionally throw in a challenge for myself and my clients that it breaks up my repetitive daily routines. I've posted my favorite challenges below. Let me know if you have questions, especially if you have questions about the proper form.
Remember if fitness is your religion, then proper form is your god. Get it right, keep it right.
Monday: Squat Challenge
Begin 1 hour after you wake up.
Complete 25 squats every hour until 1 hour before bedtime.
If you need to, sit and stand up from a hard chair 25 times.
Tuesday: Walk & Mindset Challenge
Get up 30 minutes before sunrise.
Walk till the sun rises.
State out loud everything you are grateful for.
Not a morning person? Do it at sunset.
Wednesday: Push Up Challenge
Beginning 1 hour after you get up.
Complete 5 push-ups on the hour until you've completed four sets.
These can be done military style from your toes, or from your knees, or from the arm of your chair, or a wall.
Accomodate your current fitness level.
Thursday: Plank Challenge
Hold a plank position for 30 seconds.
Complete a total of 5 between the time you get up and the time you go to bed.
Friday: Knee Step Down
Stand on a step, bend your knee as if to step down. Stop before touching the next step and straighten the bent knee. Repeat for 10 reps. Repeat on each side.
Do 10 for each knee. Complete 4 sets between the time you get up and the time you go to bed.
